Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 Client Server Development



Course Aims
This course teaches the skills required to develop client server applications using MS Visual Basic 5.0 Enterprise Edition. Readers will understand ODBC and OLE DB and the different methods available in VB 5.0 for accessing data. They will learn how to use DAO, RDO and ADO plus how to use objects in Visual Basic. Readers will create ActiveX Components and deploy them on a Network using DCOM. Learn how to manage components using Microsoft Transaction Server and how to design and implement a three tier client/server system using SQL Server, ADO and ActiveX
Assumed Knowledge
A working knowledge of Visual Basic gained either from the workplace or from attendance on a "MS Visual Basic Intermediate" course.
